This production line is designed for the ultra-high precision press-fitting, riveting, and quality validation of Mercedes-Benz driveshaft cross joint assemblies. It overcomes three critical process challenges: precision force-controlled pressing and riveting, micron-level deformation control, and end-to-end error-proofing and traceability. The goal is to meet the luxury brand's stringent standards for drivetrain quietness, durability, and zero defects.
The line is centered around "data-driven precision force control." It integrates the Kistler servo press system with the GSA planetary roller screw riveting system to monitor and closed-loop control pressing force, displacement, and riveting deformation in real time, ensuring each connection achieves optimal theoretical contact. Through the high-rigidity Weiss programmable indexer and CCD vision guidance, the line achieves micron-level repeat positioning of workpieces and precise robotic loading/unloading, establishing a foundation for consistent assembly.
Addressing the high sensitivity of cross joints to deformation during dynamic operation, the line integrates an in-line deformation measurement system. Combined with CCD inspection for assembly integrity verification, it builds a real-time quality loop of process-measurement-feedback. The entire line operates under EKS access control and MES traceability mechanisms, achieving full-link traceability from individual component processing parameters to final performance data. This provides a solid manufacturing guarantee for the reliability and long-lasting quietness of Mercedes-Benz drivetrain systems.
